INTRODUCTION:

APARTMENT: A flat typically one that is well-appointed or used for holidays or a collection of rooms forming one residence is known as apartment or flat. It occupies only part of a building, generally on a  single story.

Types of apartments:
There are different types of apartments which are listed below.

Studio apartments: The smallest self-contained apartments are referred to as studio efficiency or bachelor apartments in the US or studio flat in UK. These units generally consist of a large single main room that acts as the living room dining room and bedroom. Combined and also included kitchen facilities with a separate bathroom. In Korea, the term one room refers to as a studio apartment.

Bedsit: A bedsit is a UK variant on single room accommodation a bed sitting room probably without cooking facilities with a shared bathroom. It is only one room accommodation.

Garden Apartment: is defined as a multiple unit low rise dwelling having a considerable lawn or garden space. The garden apartment buildings are often arranged around country yards that are open at one end.such garden apartment share some characteristics of a townhouse each apartment has it’s own building entrance or shares that entrance via a staircase and lobby that rejoins other units immediately above or below it. Unlike a townhouse, each apartment occupies only one level. Such garden apartments occupy only one level.

Garden flat:
The term garden flat is used as a basement or ground floor flat with a view of and access to a garden or lawn.  Garden flat can be called simply as a basement.

Basement Apartment:
When part of a house is converted for the ostensible use of the owner family member the self-contained dwelling may be known as an in-law apartment.

Salon apartment:
Salon apartment is a term linked to the exclusive apartments built as a part of multi-family houses. The structure of the apartments included a centrally located anteroom with a combined function of the dining room and one or more salon areas.

Maisonette:

The maisonette is defined as a part of a residential building that is occupied separately usually on more than one floor and having its own outside entrance.

Loft apartment:
This type of apartment developed in North America during the middle of the 20th century. These large apartments found favor with artists and musicians wanting accommodation in large cities and are related to unused buildings in the decaying parts of such cities being occupied illegally by people.

An industrial warehouse or commercial space converted to an apartment is known as loft although some modern lofts are built by design.
Penthouse:
An apartment located on the top floor of a high rise apartment building.
Communal Apartment:
A communal apartment is a room with a shared kitchen and bathroom.
Serviced apartment:
A serviced apartment is any size space for residential living which includes regular maid and cleaning services provided by the rental agent.
Facilities:
Apartments may be available for rent furnished with furniture or unfurnished into a which tenant moves in with their own furniture. Serviced apartments intended to be confident for shorter stays include soft furnishings and kitchen utensils and maid service.
