Laminate Wood Flooring

This option is a particularly popular one with the public. It’s easy to install and maintain, especially when compared to hardwood flooring. It also has the added benefit of being hygienic and extremely durable. Laminate commercial flooring can be usually found in LEED-certified buildings. It also tends to be less expensive than hardwood flooring and other options.

The wood in commercial laminate flooring is made from composite wood with an overlaying hardwood image. The lone con of laminate wood flooring is repairing. It’s not easy to repair and certainly not cheap. At times boards can get replaced, but earlier versions would have the whole flooring replaced.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring

This option is becoming more popular than commercial these days. The benefit of engineered flooring is that it’s easy to install and low cost. Since it is a small slice of hardwood over high-quality plywood, it’s more expensive than solid wood but less expensive than most flooring options. Although it has fewer styles and options, it is very durable and easy to install. Since it uses less wood than solid wood flooring, it is a more environmentally friendly commercial flooring option.

Solid Wood Flooring

Solid Wood flooring isn’t a common flooring option, except in converted spaces. The major problem with this option is installed, it takes a lot of time to install solid wood flooring, however, it is more durable than most other types of commercial flooring. It can be an expensive affair and must be kept in mind while selecting flooring options.

Vinyl Composite Tile

It is a commonly used commercial flooring option due to its durability and value for money. Vinyl Composite Tile is easily replaceable which allows damaged tiles to be replaced quickly and easily. On the downside, the glue used to hold the tiles together can wear off in some cases, so be sure to tell your installer to put the glue properly.

When the glue comes loose, the tiles tend to lift up from the edges which lead to the surface deteriorating leading to cleaning issues and discoloration. However, between the cost and ease of installation, it can be a good choice to get installed at your workplace.

Luxury Vinyl Tile

This particular has a more luxurious look than its other counterparts. This flooring option tends to have a natural finishing look like wood or marble. It is, for a fact, a hard surface flooring consisting of everything vinyl, unlike Vinyl tiles. Luxury Vinyl tiles have a clear layer on top of them that helps protect the print on the tile. This option, unlike its counterpart, is easier to maintain. Due to the protective layering on top in place, no need for a sealant to be put in or stripped away.

Modular Carpet Tiles

For some who prefer carpeting for commercial flooring, there are a couple of options. Broadloom carpet is one option while Modular carpet is another. Modular carpet tiles offer more options in commercial flooring.

Since they are tiles, installation is obviously easier and it offers consumers the choice of patterns and styles that fit their needs best. Modular carpet tiles use vinyl backing which makes them harder to unravel.

Also, the adhesive used to help hold the tiles together works for a longer period of time, making them a better flooring option than Broadloom carpet. However, it should be noted that it is very easy to spot if modular carpet tiles are installed incorrectly.
