A Brief Guide on What To Do at a Bridal Shower

A bridal shower is a fun-filled celebratory event wherein the bride-to-be’s close friends and family members get together and have an enjoyable day before the bride’s big day. Also, she is showered with gifts by the people invited, usually of some domestic nature or the other to help set up her new home with her future husband. A bridal shower venue in Florida is essential to lock down before anything.

The origin of bridal showers goes back centuries ago when women who wanted to marry unsuitable husbands and their families refused to provide the dowry, the couple’s friends gathered and pitched in to help the new couple set up their new house.

But in today’s modern society, a bridal shower is considered a time to rejoice and enjoy the future union of two people, along with the bride getting some extra attention of course.

When to Have a Bridal Shower

There isn’t any set timeline to have a bridal shower, it usually depends on multiple factors, such as, who will be attending the shower, when will they be able to make it, whether or not people are coming in from out of town among others. Usually it best suited to have the bridal shower a couple of weeks before the wedding, at which point the bride isn’t really stressed nor caught up with other things concerning the wedding. Also, since it is close to the wedding, it is best suited or most people to attend.

Who Throws the Bridal Shower

It is the bride’s maid of honor’s duty to take up the responsibility of taking care of all the responsibilities of the bridal shower. It was usually frowned upon to have a family member do the bridal shower because it was awkward to accept gifts from family members and relatives, although in recent years it has become acceptable to do so. Unless it’s a surprise, involve the bride in the planning process. Maybe she has a particular theme in mind, like a kitchen based theme shower, an around the clock shower where in people buy gifts only at a certain time.

For an informal setting shower, usually the host picks up the tab. But for a more elaborate shower, it is advised the maid of honor talk to the other bridesmaids before hand to help pitch in for the event. Beyond financial assistance, the bridesmaids and the maid of honor should plan the entire shower together to make it a better coordinated and successful event.

Where Should you Have the Bridal Shower

A bridal shower can take place anywhere. Traditionally it is held at the host's home, but any place works; popular bridal shower venues include a favorite restaurant, park, or banquet hall. Depending on the size of the guest list and the bride's preferences, showers can also be held at a paint-your-own-pottery studio, beauty salon, spa, or gallery.

If you are planning the shower away from home, you can include certain extra details to the party, such as some themed games or activities, maybe some dancing and some added attractions.

What Happens During a Bridal Shower

Most times, bridal showers entail food, drinks, a few laughs, some untold stories and opening of presents, Food can range from a broad spectrum of choices, it could be simple like light snacks to a themed spread according to the shower or something that maybe represents the couple.

As the bride opens the presents, make sure to play some nice music in the background. Make thank-you-note writing easier by assigning someone to write down the gifts received and their giver. Fun bridal shower games are a great way to keep the party alive if they're conducive to the event space.

Bridal shower venue in Florida is key to the success of the event. It helps set the tone for the whole shower and also instills the theme, if any, that you may have in mind.
